Flying ferrets
„How can I fly my ferret to the USA?“ This was the question which Susan S. asked herself when she received her orders from the US military. After countless phone calls with different airlines the uncertainty has been much more than in the beginning.“Fortunately, the American embassy gave me the hint to call you” said Susan when she called us.
Yes, also a ferret can be a private pet. On the airlines side ferrets count as rodent (such as rabbits& guinea pigs for example, too). These animals need special transport boxes for transports by plane. These species may not be transported as excess baggage or “pet in cabin”.
“Under no circumstances a ferret may get out of the crate while it´s on the plane” so Sandra Seigfried. “And because these unusual pets also move together with their owners I always enjoy helping the owners with this big challenge.”
Following points must be clarified:
- which transport box has to be used
- checking the import requirements of the country of destination
- export customs declaration / clearance
- flight abroad
- a pick up service can be provided with our special temperature controlled vehicles
- import clearance after arrival
- home delivery
